| Bonsoir Denis,

| For my Paolo he is right it is a Dichotomius subaeneus Castelnau, 1840.because it agrees with the description of Luederwaldt 1929 (that includes it in the Sección Carbonarius) and it seems that this species has not changed in its taxonomical position. Cordialement Carlos | |

| Bonjour Denis Here I send you a copy that I changed to English of the description of D. subaeneus that gives Luederwaldt 1929 (Pp: 738- 739). It can be Cordially Carlos Dichotomius subaeneus Castelnau, 1840 (according to Luederwaldt, 1929) Very similar to D. cuprinus Felsche and of the same size, but superiorly really brilliant (in D. cuprinus, the elytrons when a lot with shine of wax, with almost microscopic, thick sculpture and it is not dotted in the pronoto); interstices with fine, barely spread points. two specimens have the greenish elytrons. With yellow antenal club, later terminal spur of the metatibias scarcely marginates; the Protibial spur with different thorn in the side of out before the midle (it lacks in D. cuprinus). Head: traverse hump, lowers, bicúspid, being continued obsoletely for the eyes, finishing near of them, inside in form of small hump - Manaos (Amazons). in the collection Zican. The specimens that had described Luederwaldt only differs of the castelnau description in: Armor of the head in the traverse keel, slightly tridentada, but the distinctly marginated hump. Elytrons with the lightest grooves. Prototrax in the anteriorly angles (in the lateral pronotal fossas) punctures distinct. Clípeo with transverse, thin wrinkles. Head with distinct punctures behind of the hump. According to Luederwaldt in the diagnosis original Castelnau he saw the head of a female, in the of Luederwaldt he saw the head of a male. and he had includes it in the Sección Carbonarius (in spite of the shine). | |

| Pardon I forgets to include the description in the key: Dichotomius subaeneus Cast. Head with a traverse carina thinly tridentate, brilliant superior side. Elytrons with coulor reflections copper metallic, with deep striae and these distinctly punctures. Clípeo very obtusely bidentate. Flat Prothorax, without different points. Very similar in the form of the body to D. carbonarius and D. glaucus, but a little more convex. Female. (he doesn't sed the size) Habitat: Cayenna Surinam My regards Carlos | |
